Première of the “TECHART Interior ROLF BENZ” for the Porsche Cayenne
Nagold. Grand première on 21st September at the company headquarters of designer furniture manufacturer Rolf Benz: Rolf Benz and TECHART from Leonberg reveal the latest Porsche Cayenne model with an innovative interior by Rolf Benz to selected automobile trade press.
TECHART Automobildesign GmbH was founded in 1987 and specialises in finishing Porsche models. Rolf Benz AG & Co. KG was formed in 1964 and is one of Germany’s best-known upholstered furniture brands. At the end of 2017, the managers at TECHART approached Rolf Benz and suggested developing a mutual interior design for the Porsche Cayenne.
Jürgen Mauß, Managing Director of Rolf Benz: "We willingly took on this challenge. We see our collaboration with TECHART as an exciting brand transfer. Rolf Benz’s elegant, comfortable living room-look is translated into the Porsche Cayenne’s interior."
The Porsche Cayenne exudes elegance, attention to detail and comfort. The ROLF BENZ brand stands for design, comfort and in-depth knowledge of interior design – ideal conditions for connecting the interior of the Porsche Cayenne that has been finished by TECHART with its exterior in a completely new way.
The "TECHART Interior ROLF BENZ" was designed by Bettina Hermann who is responsible for product and design management at Rolf Benz. She was inspired by the future of autonomous driving and the much-lauded cosiness that is borrowed from the Danish "Hygge" trend. For this purpose, she found surprising combinations of new materials, functions and colours.
The materials are natural, elegant and top-quality, entirely in keeping with the Rolf Benz look. A mix of fabric, leather and hand-woven floor mats turn the Porsche Cayenne into a real feel-good space. Rolf Benz has even transferred the look of an informal, upholstered sofa to the car’s interior – with hand-crafted gathers which were perfectly implemented by the TECHART manufacturer.
For the seats, Rolf Benz selected a high-quality woollen fabric that isn’t normally used in vehicle interiors. This created a new, soft feel and acoustics. The colours also recreate the Rolf Benz home environment: umbra, blue and cappuccino. A sophisticated champagne tone elegantly highlights the concave/convex outer form of the Cayenne in scene.
Tobias Beyer, Managing Director of TECHART: "This version of our individualised Porsche Cayenne offers pleasantly unobtrusive luxury, it conveys a sense of deceleration and guarantees a pleasant ambience. By combining lots of fabric with perfectly-matched colours and materials, we have created a unique travel space. We have processed over 80 m2 of the finest materials. Apart from the displays and a few switches, we have redesigned each individual surface of the interior– perfectly down to the smallest detail."
The newly launched system program Rolf Benz EGO will be showcased between 22nd and 28th September in the same look as the Rolf Benz Interior Edition.
