freistil 144 at the Cologne furniture fair: The sofa for bobos – that is, bourgeois nonconformists.
15.01.2018 / Cologne / Nagold. The French term “bourgeois-bohème” is a bit long-winded, so we prefer to speak of “bobos” – to be more precise, people who could be described as creative, bourgeois hippies. They’re free-spirited nonconformists who would turn a sofa into a bed – if our skilled designers hadn’t already done that with freistil 144. And whilst we’re on the topic of French words, let’s start with “Bou”: this new sofa has its own “bourle”. That’s a nicer way of describing the bulge added to the edge of the upholstery, which serves as both a protective and decorative element. So, next time you perch on a freistil 144, treat yourself to some bouillabaisse with bourbon. That’s double Bobo!
